General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and E- Privacy: Applicable European Law for Indian Companies

New Delhi

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25th May 2018. GDPR brings many organisations and businesses in India within the reach of EU data regulators, with significantly increased financial penalties, reaching up to 4% of an organisation’s global annual turnover or €20 million (whichever is the higher).  European Regulators have an extensive toolkit of sanctions, including the ability to issue business-ending “stop now” orders to prevent or suspend the processing of personal data in breach of GDPR. GDPR applies to any organisation, wherever incorporated or established, operating within Europe, or marketing goods or services to European data subjects.  It restricts the transfer of personal data outside Europe, and includes provisions that can compel organisations to make a hard choice between breaching GDPR or breaching the laws of other jurisdictions. In this workshop, we examine the key concepts and compliance requirements of GDPR, helping you to avoid financial penalties while ensuring that business-critical data flows can continue. The Training program will help you with rapid compliance and a level two knowledge update on GDPR.

Legal Project Management and Legal Process Improvement are work methodologies that are increasingly becoming necessary in the day-to-day of in-house legal departments. When a strategy is already defined from the Legal Operations area, it is necessary to train lawyers and professionals who work in legal teams so that they can work more efficiently, productively and sustainably.

The benefits of these new ways of working are clearly visible and documented: from the reduction of internal costs and the costs of hiring external providers, to a significant reduction of risks, a greater customer satisfaction, a strong improvement in the internal customer experience and a healthier and more prosperous work environment. Due to the optimization in the allocation of human, economic and time resources, each legal project can be successfully managed. This course will also allow us to understand how the same project management patterns can also be applied to organizational improvement and digital transformation projects.

You will learn powerful techniques for:

  • Key Project Management Ideas
  • Legal Design Thinking
  • Legal Process Improvement
  • Implementation of Legal Project Management
  • Project Planning and Implementation
